The new school will be called École secondaire catholique Paul Desmarais and is scheduled to open in February 2016.  Students will be temporarily housed at École secondaire catholique Pierre-Savard in Barrhaven at the start of the 2015-2016 school year.

  1. Wait. The Catholic board gets another school in Stittsville and the public board can’t even get one?!?

Time to amalgamate the boards and end religious discrimination.

    1. Hi Jimmy,

It is 100% impossible that the two boards will be amalgamated. Ontario Catholic Schools have a constitutional justification, unlike other provinces- both federally and provincially!

So, campaigning for separation is just a waste of time. Instead of doing that, why don’t you raise the public system some funds? That would be absolutely more effective.

The problem now is that there are High Schools within roughly 10km of Stittsville. It seems to me that there will not be another one for many, many years now.
