Stittsville residents called by-law 1,432 times in 2015, and more than a third of the calls were about parking issues.
That’s a 4% increase over 2014, when there were a total of 1,383 calls. Councillor Shad Qadri shared the stats his weekly email newsletter.
536 of the calls in 2015 were about parking issues, or about 34% of the total. Surprisingly, there was only one call during the year about graffiti.
There was also a big jump – more than double – in the number of calls about signs. We asked the City about that earlier in the year, and they said it can be attributed in part to “a recently-implemented policy of documenting proactive investigations as Service Requests, in addition to investigations conducted in response to specific complaints.”
Rideau-Vanier had the most bylaw calls of any ward at 9,614. The city average is 3,320.
