There are a couple of events in Ottawa taking place on both Saturday and Sunday – Winterlude and the Rogers Hometown Hockey. Whatever you do this snowy weekend, be it enjoying the outdoors or indoors have fun and stay safe.
Winterlude is on with lots of events to attend all weekend long. This is the big weekend with the Ottawa Ice Dragon Boat Festival – the world’s largest ice dragon boat race! The races are happing on both February 8 and 9 at Dow’s Lake on the Rideau Canal Skateway.
The Rogers Hometown Hockey is taking place on both February 8 and 9 at the Marion Dewar Place, Ottawa City Hall. Enjoy a weekend of free entertainment and activities for the whole family – concluding with a live broadcast of a national hockey game from the Sportsnet mobile studio Sunday night.

Just how many tricks does your dog know? A tricks testing session for DMWYD is happening at K9 Sports Centre from 10:00 am -12:00 pm. Testing will cost $10 per level. Qualifying levels will need to submit to DMWYD on their own to obtain the certificate. DMWYD certificates are also recognized by both CKC and AKC. From 10:00 am -12:00 pm, register the kids (ages 6-13) to make some special Valentines Day treats for the ones they love. They will make red velvet cakes with white whipped icing & Valentines Day sprinkles & pink rice crispy treats! Spend some time indoors at the Stittsville Library and step back in time — visit the Goulbourn Township Historical Society exhibit of historic photographs showing working tools of our ancestors. The display is located at the Stittsville Library Branch until the end of February and is available for viewing during regular Library hours.

The Open Table Community Meal is taking place at St Thomas Anglican Church. Doors open at 4:00, meal is served at 4:30 – 6:30 pm. The meal is free but donations are appreciated.
