Parents and community members are the backbone of every successful sports association. The West Ottawa Ringette Association (WORA) is no exception with the involvement of those who volunteer their time so the girls can enjoy the sport of Ringette. Although Covid has thrown a few too many rings into their season, the WORA Board of Directors are seeking enthusiastic community members to fill some of their Board of Director positions for the upcoming season.
The Board is made up of a team of 10, each member having individual roles and responsibilities working in collaboration with each other. Their meetings are held monthly (currently virtually), with interim meetings as required. Board members, parents and volunteers work together to organize the WORA tournament, the association’s largest fundraiser.
If you are interested in joining the WORA Board or have any questions, reach out to any of the individuals currently on the board at https://www.westottawaringette.com/association/association-contacts/. Elections will take place at the Annual General Meeting being held virtually on Tuesday, May 18, 2021.
Interested in volunteering and have a few questions, send an email to executive@westottawaringette.com.
The WORA Executive say, “Come be a part of our team and of building the sport we all love!”
