Two teens killed in vehicle rollover on Fernbank

(Update, Monday afternoon)

The Ottawa Citizen and CBC are reporting the names of the two young women killed in the crash. Police believe the teens were heading to or from a bush party when the driver of the car tried to pass another motorist and swerved off of the road. Police are continuing to investigate and are asking any witnesses to the incident to come forward.

Fernbank Road remains closed on Monday morning between Blacks Side Road and Jinkinson Road.

Paramedics responded to a call for single car MVC rollover that occurred on Fernbank Rd North of Jinkinson Rd. The Ottawa Paramedic Service Communications Centre received the call at 21:22 hrs today (Sunday June 18th, 2017).

After extensive extrication of the four occupants with Ottawa Fire Service, the Ottawa Paramedic Service assessed and treated the following:

· 17 Years old female patient with traumatic injuries treated and transported to hospital in serious but stable condition;
· 18 Years old male patient with traumatic injuries treated and transported to hospital in serious but stable condition;
· Approx 17 years old female patient, pronounced dead at scene;
· Approx 17 years old female patient, pronounced dead at scene;

Ottawa Fire Services responded to notification from Ottawa Police Services that a vehicle had left the road and entered a treed area near 7025 Fernbank Road on June 18, 2017 at 21:22 hours.

Upon arrival fire fighters confirmed that four occupants were in the vehicle at the time of the collision and three persons were unconscious and one patient was conscious.

Fire Fighters are extricating three patients at this time.
