PARADE OF LIGHTS: Cut-off for entries, call for volunteers

  • FLOATS & PARTICIPANTS: Cut-off for entries is at noon this Wednesday, November 23. Contact Marilyn Jenkins at 613-836-5075 or email the Stittsville Village Association at stittsvillevillage@gmail.com
  • VOLUNTEERS: Organizers are still are looking for volunteers to stand at barricades along the route. This is a great volunteer opportunity for students, and it’s perfect for families too.  Volunteers stand at barricades along the parade route at each roadway, ready to move them in the unlikely event that emergency vehicles need to pass through. The SVA’s annual Parade of Lights is a community favourite, drawing thousands of spectators along the parade route. Each year, dozens of beautifully decorated community floats set the tone for Santa’s much anticipated arrival at the end of the parade. Merry makers are also encouraged to stay for the lighting of Village Square Park, and to share in some hot chocolate and cookies.

The parade will proceed south on Stittsville Main Street, from just south of Hazeldean Road to Carleton Cathcart Street.
